Loan Processor

Summary/objective

The Para Lender is responsible for the compiling, review and arrangement of loan documentation packages according to the requirements of the file. The Loan Processor must be able to interpret different policies and procedures, analyze the loan applications received, review the loan documents and ensure that all the verification processes have been carried out.  Loan Processors will also conduct and perform a high level and large volume of time sensitive tasks and his/her work may include a lot of research work as well. He/she should be able to solve queries, ensuring compliance with the timeliness and quality standards.

  •  Prepare loan documents for various types of loans, ensuring that all the procedures are carried out effectively and within the given deadline.
  • Work in coordination with various officers to ensure that the loan transactions are carried out within the assigned parameters of the organization.
  •  Ensures that all property title issues are satisfied.
  •  Provide assistance in reviewing, preparing, and maintaining various credit files and to follow up immediately on some exceptional cases.
  •  Reviews loan terms, interest rates, and covenants, etc. to ensure that the loan is prepared in accordance with the approval specifications.  Actual closing and booking of loans and clearing of exceptions are the responsibility of lenders and their loan assistants.

Physical demands

Office setting with moderately varied desk-oriented activity, with fatigue being relieved by opportunities to stand and move around in a comfortable environment. Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.

Required education, knowledge and experience

  • Minimum 5 years in financial industry setting
  • Proficient in handling computers and should be well versed in using MS Word and Excel along with good typing skills.

 

Preferred education, knowledge and experience

  • Minimum three years of experience with loans
  • Familiar with a variety of loan products
  • Prior work experience in preparing the loan documentation
