Insurance Specialist
Job Description
This position has responsibility for monitoring various reports, files, internal systems for exposure on collateral insurance, taxes and ensuring customer compliance with loan agreements/covenants and adherence to FEMA, as well as monitoring to government regulations and internal loan policy. Candidate has moderate experience of loan documents and HMDA reporting. They will assist with internal audits as assigned and provide administrative assistance/support to lenders/lending assistants, BSA and CRA Officers. This position reports to the ERM Manager.

- Work insurance mail/emails; key in new effective dates on real estate & non real estate insurance policies and image/scan to loan; update all tracking info needed; Monday’s mail is greater than any other day.
- Review insurance policies & requirements on new & renewed real estate and non-real estate loans; checking Committee Memos, Appraisals, Flood Determination & Insurance policies. Policy review is effective date, required coverage, deductibles & lienholder added.
- Review HMDA requirements on new, renewed and turndown loans.
- Review flood insurance on all real estate loans.
- Assist loan officers/assistants with insurance questions or matters
- Add property locations to force place cycle if canceled or expired insurance (real estate) after discussing with loan officer.
- Work Insurance Expiration Report by calling insurance companies for new or renewed policies that we have not received.
- Separate and distribute non insurance review loans.
- Key in or reviewed keyed HMDA loans in Compliance Relief (QuestSoft) for upcoming year HMDA LAR
- Write exceptions for insurance and/or HMDA if needed & email the loan officer & their assistant regarding exception
- Create/work/modify Force Place Exception Report
- Create/work Flood Exception Report
- Work VSI Exception Report-call ins company if we don’t have a policy on file
- Work on force place and REO billing statement
- Add Bank Owned Real Estate properties to REO/Remove Bank sold Real Estate properties from REO
- Assist anyone with HMDA or insurance questions
- Process refund checks from TEJ on canceled force place policies
- Assist with escrow on loans as needed
- Review loan documentation to ensure compliance

- Ability to complete tasks within established timeframe
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical demands
- Sit for extended periods
- Manually operate keyboard, mouse and other personal computing devices and office equipment
- May occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
Travel required
Travel outside of the designated office location is not required
Required education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred education and experience
- 2 years prior banking experience preferred
- Experience with loan documentation and loan compliance preferred
